Now, Somaca/CRL has improved the VE4 Automatic Edger. One push of the button starts all machine functions. Another button automatically adjusts conveyor width for all glass thicknesses from 1/8 to 1 inch (3 to 25 millimeter). Conveyor height is only 29-1/2 inches (749.3 millimeters) for easy handling of heavy glass. All machine functions on the VE4 are now operated by a PLC control interface. At a glance the operator can read spindle amperage, conveyor load and conveyor speed. To simplify wheel changeovers when necessary, the spindles and all adjustments are located in front of the machine. Digital position readouts at each spindle allow the operator to quickly set-up for the next production order without guesswork. There are two run-time meters: one is resettable, and tells you the exact job production time; the other meter tells you the total run-time for maintenance scheduling. There is also a resettable length meter reading in English or metric.
